Washington trip day 1

About to take off from San Fran
Early start this morning, up at 4am and at the airport by 6am. Not having been to Washington DC my anticipation is building, this should be a trip of a lifetime. The only downside is I will miss my wife and kids while I'm away. The good news was that the flight was on time! But that quickly changed with a medical emergency and a passenger had to be removed from the plane. Not a good start to what promises to be an exciting educational trip.
The flight once moving went with out a hitch and arrived ahead of

schedule due to a strong tailwind :) the shuttle ride to down town was fun as it allowed me to get to see some of the skyline and city. We're staying only a few blocks from the White House, the city is really nice and reminds me a bit of Dublin or the South Mall in Cork with Georgian houses with steps up to beautiful colored doors.

Our group
The hotel is very nice and check in was simple. I walked around the block to get some water and passed the office of the Washington Post. Every turn is a world recognized company or business. The even class kicked off with a lecture on he FED, a re-cap of the financial boom and bust.
A fun evening with buffet, wine and cheese. A great kick off to get to know my fellow students.

Here are the names of the group:
(Back L-R) Kyle, Johnathon, Daniel, Tim,Andrew, Scott
(Middle L-R) Alejandro, Robert, Tony, Mary
(Front L-R) Hixia, Faten, Shelly, Kelly, Barrie
